Jan Rosenow is Professor of Energy and Climate Policy at the University of Oxford, where he leads the Energy Programme at the Environmental Change Institute and directs the Oxford Martin Electrification Accelerator. He is also Jackson Senior Research Fellow at Oriel College and a Senior Associate at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. His work focuses on energy efficiency, electrification and clean heat. Jan’s career spans two decades in the private and non-profit sectors as well as academia. He advises governments and international organisations including the United Nations, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, International Energy Agency and World Economic Forum, and in 2025 briefed all 27 EU energy ministers during a formal debate of the EU Energy Council on industrial electrification. He is regularly quoted in international media including The New York Times, The Economist and the BBC, and ranks among the world’s most cited scientists.
